Dendera
The Temple of Dendera is located 60 km north of Luxor
on the west bank of the Nile, built in a Graeco-Roman
style. The temple consists of a splendid hypostyle hall
of 24 hathoric columns bearing the face of the goddess
Hathor, worshipped in Dendera.

The ceiling of the hypostyle hall and a small
chapel on the roof of the temple are famous for the interpretation
of the zodiac. In the sanctuary and on the roof of the
temple, the mysteries of the birth of cosmic order from
the primeval chaos were celebrated. The most important
scene in the temple is a relief of famous Queen Cleopatra
and Caesareon, her son from Julius Caesar.
