Port Said

Port Said was founded in 1860 as a harbour on the Mediterranean coast at the northern entrance of the Suez Canal. The importance of Port Said in the world has increased, since it was declared to be a free zone. It is situated 220 km north east of Cairo and 80 km north of Ismaylia. The city of Port Said has beautiful, clam sandy beaches.

Geographically, Port Said connects Africa with Asia, because the suburb Port Fuad is already located on the east bank of the Suez Canal.

A tour in the boat around the port brings the tourist, so to speak, in contact with the whole world, because many ships from all over the world, wait there to pass through the Suez canal.
